Installation help
I have a Starry Internet router/modem combination, which I'm connecting to an Apple AirPort TimeCapsule router. The router is essentially behaving as a wired-only extension of the Starry router, because I have a few devices that I'd prefer to have connected by wire (e.g. my home GPU tower, a WeMo bridge, etc.).
With the Firewalla device plugged into the AirPort time capsule, the Firewalla app cannot find the Firewalla device. Does anybody know how to handle this? Essentially I think it boils down to "how do I get the Firewalla, plugged into a router connected to another router, to be detected", but I'm woefully inexperienced at Networking to know how to tackle this. For what it's worth, on the Starry internet router, the Firewalla device is detectable as being connected via Ethernet, and my phone is on the Starry router's WiFi (i.e. correct SSID).

The problem is how the connection is made. And it is very likely (from your description), you have two different networks. One under the Starry Internet router and one under the apple airport timecapsule. In order for the firewalla to be discovered, your phone and the firewalla must be on the same network.
So in your case, you will want to connect your phone to timecapsule, or move firewalla to Starry router

Hello Firewalla,
Thanks for getting back. I'm sorry, I forgot to describe the networking situation.
I used Airport Utility to ensure that the TimeCapsule is not broadcasting a WiFi signal of its own. I also setup the TimeCapsule to be on Bridge mode, if I remember correctly, so it should be dependent on the Starry router for an internet connection.
I guess a more generic situation to simulate this scenario is when one has a Firewalla connected to router B (router B has multiple ethernet devices connected to it), with router B connected to a router A (router A only has one available ethernet port for other devices), and router A is connected to a modem. In this scenario, with the Firewalla connected to router B, I'm unable to connect to the Firewalla on my WiFi network.
Would you guys have any thoughts on how to solve this?
Thanks again, I'm looking forward to using my Firewalla device!
Cheers,

In the generic case, if router B is running in bridge mode, then you can connect firewalla to router A or B. Then make sure your phone is connecting to the A or B's wifi network.
If router B is in router mode, then if you connect firewalla to A, your phone must connect to A. If you connect Firewalla to B, then your phone need to connect to B.
here is a checklist, which we made for trouble shooting
