Dhcp reservation on firewalla

Hi,
So I had to select DHCP mode for firewalla which means disabling my DHCP on dovado pro router. I had multiple IP reservations on router's DHCP. How do I migrate this (can be manually) to firewalla? Some devices need precise IP address to work with home automation.

We are working on a set of features to allow this to happen. The ability to reserve IP address for Mac address in DHCP mode. Will this solve the problem?

How about ETA of this set of new features ?

I'm in position where 30% of my home automation stopped working as bind to previous IP addresses. So the magic question is shall I wait as you expect it to be available for users in < 30 days from now or we are talking weeks if not months ?

Jacek , should have a better time after the holidays. We do understand this important, so we put a priority on it. Should be weeks not months.

Any updates on this? For those of us that have to use DHCP mode due to router compatibility issues this is a pretty big deal thanks!

We are cherry picking code from our master branch now, hopefully, we will have it released to beta soon. Meaning, software is done, need to release it to our beta users.

I actually switched over from simple mode to dhcp mode and noticed my reservations on my router were useless. Is there a beta version of the software with his feature yet?

That feature is coming soon ... really soon. Today we released the iOS app with the UI. And the code running on the box is in limited beta. If you want to join that beta, send a note to help@firewalla.com

There are a few more interesting features on that release

- safe search

- enhancement mode in DHCP mode

- enhanced malware download detection

- open port alarms.

- ability to block p2p and gambling sites

Can we kick this request back open or can I file a RFE?

I know that MAC address and the IP address I want for the device. I may also know the DNS name I want to give it. I would like to be able to create a DHCP reservation for a MAC address before it is connected to the network. I need this because DNS Lookups for some systems need to be resolved at boot time to setup the services. I am unable to type fast enough after the system boots to get the DNS set in firewalla.
