Hi,
About the UI bug Andy mentioned, I have the same ”problem”, Samsung Galaxy 8, just wanted to add, It does vagely say ”No more alarms” behind the last one that dosen’t disappear, not sure if this helps any but nevertheless. Other than that I have no comments about the Android app, as far as i am concerned it works as good as the IOS app (running that on my iPad).
Best regards

Hi again...
Another question, you (do not think it has anything with the Android app to do, thu, so this might be in the wrong section). In both of the apps, under ”Advanced” there is a choice to ”Allow addidional binding”, in my point of view it is kind of clear what this does, BUT I have both of the apps running and connected to the same Firewalla and in neither of them this is enabled but everything work perfect, so when is this needed, is it when it is more than one IOS or Android app used maybe?
Best regards

Hi Jonas,
Thank you for your comments.
First about the UI bug, we've confirmed the bug and will release a new version soon including the fix:)
Second for the "Allow additional binding", yes, you are correct, it is used for when you want to bind the same firewalla box with multiple apps on your phone or pad(ios or android). So when you have a new phone(iphone or android phone) and you want to install the firewalla app and bind to your current firewalla box, you can switch that button on your first phone, so that after several minutes, your new firewalla app will see the firewalla box and you can bind to it just like your first app. After binding, the button will be switched back, so next time if you have a third phone, which you want to bind to the same firewalla box, you just need to switch that button on again.:) This is just a convenient way to let your new firewalla app find your firewalla box, otherwise, you need restart your firewalla box to let your new app find it.
thanks
Kris

When viewing Network FLows (Deep Insight) on any device, immediately following screen-load none of the buttons (Apps, Upload, Download, History) are responsive to clicks unless you scroll.
On the devices containing limited data... you cannot scroll, therefor you cannot click these buttons

When trying to setup my firewalla, after plugged into the router and power, the app never finds the device. The phone is connected to the correct wireless connection (router) but the device is never found on the home screen or after clicking the plus sign and "Continue". This issue is also being seen by other users (reference the app reviews in the Google Play Store). When an Apple user tries to setup my device it works however so it is strictly Android users. I never had this issue before the most recent update.

I replied via email but just to make sure you received my response I am posting here.
Yes, I am a BETA user and app is the BETA app. I am using an HTC 10I confirmed this bug is non existent on the Samsung Galaxy S8
NOTE: Please inform your Android dev that my issue "might" not be related to the app as I am on my 2nd HTC One m10 device due to the screen having a region of (what i call) dead pixels. Seems the region where these buttons are is about the same area my device is non responsive (to clicks) for anything, including swiping of sense home screens

When the Android app is opened afer it's just been closed(by the back button), opening it again doesn't take it to the FWG page directly.
Also there is a new change in notification being clicked. Maybe impliment it later..

I'm having a strange issue with my FWG where the two Samsung A70 handsets when connected to Wi-Fi show there is no internet connection, even though there is a connection. One is running Android 10 and the other 11.
Some apps like Brave Browser will continue to operate however most apps will simply cease to operate. This is particularly frustrating.
I'm running a Xiaomi ALoT AX3600 router as an access point with the FWG as router. Port 4 of the FWG is connected to one of the switch ports (not WAN) on the AX3600.
This issue will kick in after a short time no matter what I do. I've taken care to create rules to allow traffic to Google servers to the point where nothing is being blocked yet the issue persists. If I turn Wi-Fi off and back on again on the affected devices the issue goes away for a few minutes before starting once more.
The issue occurred for me on both stable and beta releases. It doesn't occur if the AX3600 is used as s router with the FWG connected to its WAN port however then the FWG is unable to see and manage devices. I'm not sure where to go from here.

You are saying FWG WAN port (port 4) is connected to the LAN port of the AX3600? I don't think that will work ... What you need to do is
[ISP modem]<--->[Gold port 4 in router mode]<---->[AX3600 in AP mode connect to LAN port of the Gold]
Some more tests
- Tap on devices
- Find the Android Phones
- Turn on emergency access mode for your phones
If the above works, then the problem is likely some rules
- things under the rules button
- adblocker
- DoH
- family mode
-
No, the fibre modem goes into the WAN port of the FWG, and the port to the left of that runs into a network port on the AX3600. I've tried everything you've suggested there including emergency access mode and the issue remained which has led me to believe the issue is with the Xiaomi ALoT AX3600.
Due to this I've just placed an order for one of your recommended routers, the TP-Link Wifi 6 X60. I believe this will sort out my problem.

@Matthew Firewalla Gold when in router mode is compatible with pretty much any router that can do AP/Bridge mode properly. You don't have to stick with the routers we test with. (although we love routers from Costco, they have good discounts :)
But from our experience, some of the lesser-known routers are likely not as good as the popular ones.

All good, I'd rather go with something you've tested and is known to work than make a punt on something random. I'll make use of the TP-LINK and keep an eye on Open-WRT development for the Xiaomi AIoT AX3600. If they ever get that going I can revert back to the Xiaomi which is fantastic in terms of throughput and coverage. A pair of them make an incredible wireless mesh solution. Poor AP mode though has forced me to move off them for now.
