power surge killed my Firewalla - what next?

Hi Firewalla I need your help/advice!

We lost power last night here in NH -- seems to be a constant thing this winter -- an my unit will no longer start up.  I tried unplugging for a while and plugging back in and both the green and yellow just stay on ... and on ... and on.  I never see the "hidden lights" come on.

I decided to try reflashing the microSD but it seems to not be recognized by my system.  I downloaded the image and Etcher but it never seems to recognize the card. I realize that my card reader is a few years old and might not support the microSD card (although it says it will and Windoz explorer shows a removable disk available).

So my questions are:

1) Should I go buy a new microSD to see if that is the problem?

2) could the power surge have fried the unit and a new card won't matter?

I hate to spend the $$ for another card (and reader/writer) that I might not need.  What do you think?
