Unblock (Allow) Device
Hi!
Under alarms>archived alarms i have, among others, a device (one of our smartTVs) marked as "Access Blocked" which might be causing some issues i have with it using the Netflix app. It is not in the "Blocked Sites" list under "Blocked Devices" (not anywhere else in the list either for that matter). I do find it under "Devices" and there i can choose to monitor/unmonitor it but i really rather want it to monitored but "Únblocked".
So actually 3 questions:
Is it blocked or does this only meen that it has been blocked previously but now next time it will be allowed?
If blocked, is there a way to unblock it, i can't find any?
Does it have to be online to be unblocked or presented in the list of blocked sites/devices?
Best regards
Jonas

Hi Jonas,
Thanks for the feedback. The "blocked sites" list is the final source of truth, if it's not on in that list, it's not blocked.
For your three questions:
1. Is it blocked or does this only mean that it has been blocked previously but now next time it will be allowed?
[Melvin] It only means it has been blocked previously. Next time it will be allowed, since it's not on the "Blocked Sites".
2. If blocked, is there a way to unblock it, i can't find any?
[Melvin] Any blockings will be listed in "Blocked Sites", you can always unblock by tap any blocked sites in "Blocked Sites" page.
3. Does it have to be online to be unblocked or presented in the list of blocked sites/devices?
[Melvin] Don't have to be online.
More explanation on blocked sites/devices:
- Blocked Sites: Your devices will NOT be able to access any domains/IP addresses listed here.
- Blocked Devices: Devices will NOT be able to access any network, when they are added here.
Sorry for the confusion, we are still tuning the user interaction, trying to make it simpler. Your feedbacks are very valuable.
Thanks,
Melvin

HI!
Thank you for your fast reply :-)
That answered all my questions and i am happy!
Of course, then a new question showed up, when I, in the blocked sites/device list, tap a device under the headline "Blocked devices", the only choice i have is remove the device from trust list, that i assume means the device is ON the trust list and therefor not blocked, is that a correct assumption?
I do think your UI is pretty selfexplaining and the user interaction is great, some of us needs more explanations then others thu, me being one of those :-)
Thank you for an overall very, very good product!
Best regards

Hi Jonas,
Thanks again for the great feedback, it's very important to us. I've forwarded it to the team. They are excited.
To your new question, just confirmed that it's an android app bug. This device was actually *allowed* by you, but it's mis-placed in "blocked device" category. It will be fixed in next release. In short, the device is not blocked, don't worry.
BTW: We are working in progress to refine the "blocked sites" page to make it more simple and easy to use.
Thanks,
Melvin
