For “I'm not sure what the category Apps is supposed to display, I see Youtube and Twitter. What is the definition of "Apps"?”, somebody can help? @firewalla

    Hi Nathan,

For the Device List > Device Details > Flow Details (Selecting the graph) part,  may need your help to make us better understand the issues:

    1. "The default time should be 'Now'"  What do you mean by "default time"?
    2. "The padding of the times can be much smaller." Do you mean instead of putting 3 time labels, we can put more? If necessary, you can upload some snapshot :)
    3. "It doesn't seem that this page header gets device name change updates. It still has the original device name. (Flow Details of [Original Name])". Do you mean when back from a certain device detail, for example device1, and click another device, like device2 in the list, the title still show "Flow Details of device1"? if so, I need try to reproduce the issue.

    > "The default time should be 'Now'"  What do you mean by "default time"?

After playing with this a bit more. I now understand that when you tap on the graph, it gets the hour you tapped on and shows you the time label for that hour. My first impression upon tapping the graph was that no matter where I tapped, it should display the 'Now' time label. I didn't realize it was displaying the hour that I tapped.

    > Do you mean instead of putting 3 time labels, we can put more? If necessary, you can upload some snapshot :)

Exactly. You could easily display 5 time labels.

    > Do you mean when back from a certain device detail, for example device1, and click another device, like device2 in the list, the title still show "Flow Details of device1"? if so, I need try to reproduce the issue.

    Consider the following:

    1. Add a new device to firewalla.
    2. The default device name is 'originalName'
    3. Rename the device to 'newName'
    4. View the Flow Details of the device 'originalName/newName'.
    5. It should show "Flow Details of newName", but it currently shows "Flow Details of originalName"
    6. No matter how many times you change the name of the device, it will always show "Flow Details of originalName" for that device.

    Hi Folks,

Following up on one of Nathans points .

Did you get the VPN page working on android ?

Every time I tap 'Tap to download VPN profile and install on your mobile devices ' I get presented with 'No apps can perform this action' and nothing happens. I agree with Nathan , if this is a known issue then this feature should be disabled in android .

Is there a workaround available? Does firewall save the profile to storage ?

Latest OpenVPN installed . Android Oreo installed .

    Thanks

    Michael

Got VPN to work on my Android, only by jumping through hoops:

    Samsung S4 Active, AT&T Lollipop 5.01

    Firewalla Android app v 1.75

OpenVPN Connect Android app v 3.0.1

Because I have an iPhone/iPad on which the Firewalla VPN is working, I was able to use this work around:

    1. Saved the .ovpn file from the iOS environment to my Google Drive

    2. Downloaded .ovpn file onto my Android

    3. Launched OpenVPN Connect, imported the .ovpn file, added as profile

    4. Turned on newly created profile, was prompted for the Private Key password, entered, and successfully connected!

So getting this far, at least I can say the Android OpenVPN Connect can establish a proper session with the Firewalla. The .opvn profile file out of the iOS Firewalla app is useable.

The questions this leaves me with is:

    1. Is the Android Firewalla app creating a valid/usable .ovpn profile file?

    2. Where is the .ovpn file being saved in the Android environment?

    3. How do you (re)associate .ovpn file extensions to the OpenVPN Connect app; Googl’ed extensively for this and found numerous other apps explaining a process but none which were applicable/working for this .ovpn case.

    4. Is the app handoff piece of the .ovpn file from the Firewalla app to OpenVPN Connect app broken?

Try to install openvpn client on your Android phone first, then you should be able to navigate to download the .ovpn file.  The .ovpn file is generated on the Firewalla box.   And never saved on Android

We have a bug open to fix this.

How can i "navigate to the to download the .ovpn file" if its contained in another application ? Please explain these steps further. OpenVPN can only import ovpn  profiles via 'Import'.

Can you confirm that you have been able to get Android working with the VPN using the android Firewalla app and OpenVPN ?

    Device Version v1.95.12
    App Version 1.75(81)
    Android

Hi Micky, by design, if OpenVPN app is installed on your phone, when you click 'Tap to download VPN Profile...' in Firewalla app, it will automatically copy the .ovpn file to OpenVPN app and navigate you to OpenVPN app. However, sometimes it may get failure when the OpenVPN version not compatible.  To handle this issue, we will release a new version soon which will provide a way to let user save the .ovpn file on the phone where OpenVPN app can import from.
