Need help setting Inform-host address for Unifi devices

Hello,

I recently moved from an edge-router 4 to a firewalla gold plus. In the edgerouter, there was a field in the Gui to enter the inform host IP address. When a switch is plugged into the network, it will get the ip and register to the controller in the cloud.

I am trying to figure out how to do it on firewalla. I saw there is a place to enter option 43, but not sure of the format, firewalla support was not sure either and they suggested a DNS rule but not sure how to do that. 

Has someone gotten it working and if so, could you provide the steps

  Just got this working with the help of support. Posting solution for others:

  You have to do two things

  1.  DHCP option 43 Value:0x0104........ . The Value is in Hex. You can convert here

  https://tcpip.wtf/en/unifi-l3-adoption-with-dhcp-option-43-on-pfsense-mikrotik-and-others.htm. You want the Mikrotik RouterOS via GUI information

   

  I also had to do a custom DNS rule

  Domain -> unifi

  Resolve to -> Unifi controller IP

   

  Both were needed. It auto registered to the controller

  Can you post the exact format? I am trying f104c0a80105 (for 192.168.1.5). I am not sure if I need the F1 or if I need to start with 0x, etc. Thank you.
