Firewalla Gold + Events to Home Assistant
Hello All,
My ISP has been experiencing issues and it cuts out. Typically, it is down and I need to manually unplug the modem and after a restart, its back online. So naturally, I wanted to automate this. I connected a TPLink smart plug to the modem's plug and added it to Home Assistant. Now I can at least manually reboot the modem IF I am home. If I am not, there is no connectivity. Firewalla knows when the WAN goes down. Alerts are generated. So all I need is to be able to send these events/alert to Home Assistant so it can act upon them. Ideally, if the WAN is down for at least 20 minutes, it would reboot the modem automatically even if I am not home.
Exploring this led me to the MSP API's for Firewalla. The API's are not on the free Tier. It also appears to be a cloud API meaning that I can't make calls directly to the box over the LAN?
Has anybody come across this scenario and are there any better ways to get the alerts out of firewalla and into Home Assistant? I know it is a linux machine so there may be a messier way to access the logs directly on the firewalla machine but that seems like a lot more work to build out something to accomplish this.
Thank you

I suppose you could use the MSP API to determine if Firewalla thinks it is offline and restart the modem if the LAN is working. But the API requires connectivity so this is only going to work if the box is giving you a false positive.
Is it possible to work with the ISP to improve the service?
