Issue with WAN port / Thousands of errors per minute
Hi,
Wondering if anybody else has seen an issue like this... I have a Gold that's been fairly rock solid. It's in router mode with my main ISP in port 1 and Wifi failover to a cellular hotspot. Last evening just after 8pm our internet went down and I turned on my hotspot and started using it thinking that my ISP was having an issue. 12 hours later firewalla was still reporting no connectivity so I reset my ISP's equipment, then seeing no difference at all, held the blue button on firewalla and power cycled. It came back online but still could not get out so I called my ISP. They said they could see the WAN port and it was throwing "thousands of errors per minute" and suggested I try a new cable. Since the cable is virtually brand new, I thought maybe I'd pull the power on the firewalla and see if that helped at all... not really expecting it to. But as soon as it came back up all the errors cleared, I was able to get a DHCP address from my ISP and everything went back to normal.
It seems very odd to me that a power cycle did not 'fix' this issue. Having to pull the power cord seems extreme but I know how fidgety computers can be. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced anything similar and if there's a better way to fix this and keep it from happening in the future.
Thanks,
Erik

Yes, I should have been more specific. Per the ISP's tech lady, I pulled the power to the 'modem' until she saw it go 100% offline on their side. I then re-applied power.
The firewalla was powered off with the front button first, then power was pulled for about 15 seconds and then it was plugged back in.
Let me know if I can send you any logs?
