That's going to be hard, since it is pretty difficult to detect the duration of devices with multiple applications running on them. This is the reason, rather than doing that, we focus on individual applications, this way, we can fine tone everything.

But, if you do want to schedule internet, like 9pm to 10pm gaming time ... that can be done using rules

This is definitively a feature that is seriously missing.

On my Synology router which I use as AP, I can assign any device to a profile, that would be the equivalent of dedicating a device to a user in the FW app, then I can assign daily internet limits to that profile, as well as turn on or off network traffic for that device based on a schedule.

For example I can allow 2 hours of internet within each day to the profile, AND, limit the use of these 2 hours and say, to 1 hour between 8AM and 9AM and 1 hour between 5PM and 6PM.

This is a feature Synology has implemented in SRM (their router software) years ago, I see no reason why it could not be done on FW devices which are more sophisticated than Synology's.

Currently I am palliating to the lack of this feature by implementing it on the Synology router (AP) but that only works for devices on the WiFi network and I would need to do it on the Ethernet network as well, thus the FW router. I understand it can be done with rules but that requies multiple rules for a single task, it should be easier to do, I would suggest taking a look at how Synology presents it in SRM, it is very simple to use.

Yes, this is essential. Surprised not to see it.

Can you explain how to do this with rules? I need this feature.

I’m also keen to see this feature. The rules spaghetti that i currently have in place to manage this (including vendor specific controls like Apple family and Xbox family) becomes a real nightmare to manage and diagnose when something goes wrong. Looking forward to seeing this drop…. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
