If your flashing failed, try a new SD card, and flash that. Usually, that may fix the issue.

I tried. My firewalla came with 8 GB. I tried 3 times and it failed. Then i though flash content was 7.44GB. May be space not enough. Then I used new 32GB card. That also failed 2 times so far. Now both cards are not accessible. Should I format the cards in and specific format before flashing? If not how do I at least get my cards back? Also, you talk about two lights inside the firewalla. I think I see only one, not two. Network connector lights are fine.

You do not need to format the card. Have you tried a 16GB card?

Also, failed 2 times so far, is it the flashing fail or the booting fail?

I know I don't need to format the card to flash. after multiple flashing attempts, both cards are not accessible in the computer anymore. So asked how to use it for other purposes.

Currently I do not have 16GB SD Card. I need to order one, if you believe that is the reason. Why would that be the case?

To be clear, you are NOT suppose to access the flashed cards in your computer. What you do is, push that card in your Red and turn it on and pair it as new.

Are you saying if I can’t flash the SD card properly, it is wasted? I cannot use it for anything else?
Also flashing fails during validation. Are you still recommending I push it is and start as new?

    Hi Prashantha,

You need 16GB SD card. A bigger may be ok, but I never tested that. It is possible for a card to fail flashing and it might be ok for storing files or something. The flashing software is particular.

If the flashing is completed on the computer, follow the guide to insert it into firewalla.

As of now flashing on a computer is failing on the card it came with (8gb) and 32 Gb. I will order a 16 GB and try. Now how to recover flash failed ad cards?

Did the "fail" happen when you were flashing the SD card on your PC? And by fail, you can't read the the SD card on the PC? or you get other errors?

After flashing it fails during the validation step in the computer. After that my ad card cannot be read in computer. I am using your recommended flasher tool.

Your PC will not be able to read the SD card after flashing. (This is the right behavior). You will need to push that SD card on the red and start running it.

@Prashantha, very likely you can format the other SD cards for other purposes they may be fine.

I got Sandisk MicroSD HC 16GB Class 10 card. Is there any particular OS that I should be using to Flash it? I want to make sure I consider all possibilities before wasting 3rd memory card. Please confirm.
