Route Mode with Google wifi
i was able to setup firewalla in route mode using (Solution 1: Wireless Backhaul) https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048869274-Google-Wifi-or-Nest-Wifi-Mesh-network-with-Gold-Series-Beta-Firewalla.
- i configured the DHCP range for google primary unit from 192.168.86.2-192.168.86.3, i've 1 router and 2 points.
- while adding point, i was able to add 1st point without any issues, however when i try to add 2rd point, it is not receiving ip from primary unit allocated by DHCP range. for troubleshooting i increased DHCP range from 2 to 3ips. example 192.168.86.2 to 192.168.86.4
- later added 2nd point to wifi network, it connected without any issues and picked DHCP ip range from pool.
- Google primary unit: 192.168.86.1
- 1st Point: 192.168.86.2
- 2rd Point: 192.168.86.4
- however issue now, some wifi devices are getting DHCP ip left over from Google Primary unit which is 192.168.86.3.
- article says allocated DHCP ranges equal to N of points, but it didn't worked me, i have to increase the range to work it.
