oh, also blocked is the purevpn mobile app. Which, has successfully worked flawlessly on my mobile since i got the firewalla. The app does however continue to work fine on desktop.

Are you using any customized DNS? (or what is your DNS) Next, are you using a VPN?

Do you have ipv6 on? if you do, turn that off and see if it works

What other rules do you have on that phone? family mode? safe search?

Family mode, safe search applied to entire wan.  DNS over HTTPS on, unbound off. no custom DNS rules.

No VPN setup through the firewalla, but I have the PureVPN app on mobile, and desktop. Both used to function fine and as intended, now only desktop works.

    No ipv6 turned on.

i'm certain it has to be something stupid. Maybe deco related? The box has been flawless since i got it.

"Safe Search" is usually used on kids ... it may block a lot more search results, are you sure you want to turn it on for everyone?

Family mode will block VPN (this is what you see)

What you can do is turn off family mode, safe search, then turn off and on wifi on your phone to reset DNS cache, then try everything again

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with Firewalla Gold Plus router mode with connected deco in AP mode.

On android (phone and tablet) Strava fails to load the home screen, Rouvy (cycling app) takes ages to display the landing page. Everything works fine using a vpn on the Android device; apps work fine when connecting the main deco unit directly to the ISP. It's only when the firewalla unit is between the ISP and the deco unit the issues occur.

Putting the Deco unit into Router Mode does solve the issue. Reverting back to AP mode and the problem returns.

@Gary, follow this and see if you can locate the issue https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050255274-What-to-do-when-you-can-t-access-certain-websites

Next, also make sure you are using the default DNS settings, possible list out all the rules you have applied?

I've followed the guide and when IP6 was disabled everything worked fine on the android devices. Thanks for that. It gives me something to work with and I'll look to create a separate LAN for them to connect to.
