Network Segmentation with EERO

You can do the work segment using a Firewalla port > switch >  because it is ethernet only.

If you want to have Personal and IoT, the Eero need to be treated as completely separate networks as well.

So if you set up port 1 for work, 2 for Personal and 3 for IoT each on distinct LANs and put eero in bridge mode on the Personal and IoT networks using distinct SSD you should be o.k..

I would think there are better choices of APs for a scenario like this though, since you will spend a lot more for what you are getting and not get the benefit of the mesh.

Thanks Michael. I currently have 2 Eero 6Es. It occurs to me now that I also have a Netgear modem I’m no longer using that I could put into AP mode. Using the existing hardware I suppose I could save on cost with:

    1. IOT network on Firewalla port 3 to Netgear AP

    2. Personal Network on firewalla port 2 to Eero mesh in bridge mode

    3. Work network on firewalla port 1 connected to switch

    Hi Tucker,

Absolutely. You can use another AP like your Netgear router in AP mode for IoT and then multiple eeros in bridge mode on the Personal network as you say. Just give the Netrgear a different SSID from the eeros and you will be good.

    Hi Tucker,
I've been eyeing a setup similar to yours and I'm keen to pick your brain on it. I'm currently using Eero Pro 6s and considering an upgrade. Would you be up for a chat to share some insights? I'm all ears for any tips you might have.

Also, if it's cool with you, can I DM you to talk directly?
    Thanks a bunch
