filtering exclude

In trying to filter (specifically clients) I haven't been able to exclude based on any criteria.  For instance if I wanted to EXCLUDE a specific vendor rather than only INCLUDE a specific vendor.  Is this possible and I just haven't seen it or not done it right?

  By vendor, do you mean the device view?

  Sorry I didn't specify that, yes in the device view. To wade through devices it would be nice to be able to exclude certain device vendors before working with a list.
