WAN hacked?

i turned on my purple, fed its wan interface to another firewall and did not connect anything else to it. i booted it, and saw a long list of ip addresses it was accessing does not look legit for sure to me.  

1- is there a way to see all ip addresses being accessed on the WAN side?

2- need a hardware switch! to disable any changes or installation of software to the device otherwise one mishap and it can be hacked - but what do i know!

3-it should notify the user if it does an automatic software or firmware upgrade.
