new guy
Hello,
Looking for some advice on getting set up without a lot of hassle. Just purchased firewalla gold. Looking to get my home network locked down. Currently using spectrum 1 gig internet package, spectrum modem, orbi wifi mesh (RBR 50 and 2 satellites). Have Roku(4), Vivint, a few other IOT devices, and stream my TV's with a direct tv streaming ap. From what I gather my orbi will not work as an AP and the Firewalla if I want to segment my network. I really am looking for advice on you could what would you purchase to set your home network up. A few disclaimers I cannot hard wire my house, WIFI is my main option to network my house. My house is 2 stories, and I have multiple cameras outside. Just looking to make my life easier and have the best stuff without hassle.

I feel the same as the OP. I'm only single story and I'm having issues getting a strong enough signal where my kids game. Current set up is Modem/Router (non-broadcasting) -> into Firewalla Purple WAN port (also non-broadcasting) -> from LAN of Firewalla Purple to NetGear Power Line plugged into the wall that allegedly talks to the other Powerline unit plugged in near my kids and broadcasts the wifi they connect to.
I want to set them up so they quit bugging me or running wire out to the Modem/Router (where I don't get parental control through my Firewalla Purple). I'm thinking of Modem-> Eero Pro6 in Bridge Mode?? -> Firewalla Purple -> Switch -> other Eeros ???. I am tech rusty. I am fatigued from all the variables. If I use the Eero Pro between the Modem/Router and the Purple, I need help with which ports to use, etc. And other people saying they use Eeros plugged into the switch confuse me. I thought only one Eero pro would be hard wired (the one between the modem and the prurple) and the rest would be getting a signal from that one.
One of the "show us your rack" postings is doing the same but with a much more extensive set up. I am going to try and find the person that posted theirs in another Community posting next. Here is that posting: https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/18333572629267/comments/18364856154643Someone please help! Thank you!
