Firewalla DDNS and Cloudflare
Trying to wrap my head around how I get Firewallas DDNS to work/update with Cloudflare. I am sure I am over complicating this so hoping someone can help me out.
I own domain zzz.com which I have recently transferred to Cloudflare.
In CF I have an A record for zzz.com that maps to the Public IP of 1.2.3.4. CFs proxy features are Enabled for this A Record.
Should I change the value of that A record to FWs Domain value of x7cf44449.d.firwalla.org instead of the Public IP? If so can I still use the CF proxy features etc?

I don't know specifically how Cloudflare does things, but it sounds like what you will need is a CNAME from zzz.com to xyz123xyz123.firewalla.com (you probably shouldn't have pasted in your DDNS record in a public forum - maybe Firewalla support can help you change it to a different value that hasn't been exposed?).

Thanks.
That is Not actually the value of my FW DDNS record. Just made one up similar to what is there.
That said I have it working, using nslookup to my cname alias actually shows the DDNS name which is also Not good and I think one of the concerns people had on other forums regarding this topic...No?

Well, DNS records are public, so anyone who knows to look at your domain's records can see things like this.
I was thinking more of not exposing it in a public forum just as a general rule. It probably doesn't really matter in this case though.
I just get funny about keeping as anonymous as possible in web forums, reddit, other social media, etc. So don't mind me. :-)

I totally get where you are coming from. I agree and that is why I did Not post my actual FW DDNS address.
Also I was successful in getting the DDNS working (using CNAME) with Cloudflare so I have their protection running w/o actually exposing my DNS and Public IP to the world...at least in theory.
