Motorola MG8602 cable modem/router/wifi AP combo

Xfinity ISP, wanting to use firewalla gold, without getting rid of the combo equipment or buying another WiFi AP. Will the Gold work in DHCP if I disable DHCP on the combo device? Does the firewalla still provide routing and wifi AP?

  Usually Xfinity Gateways would be configured this way:

  XFINITY Gateway (bridge mode) → Gold (Router Mode) → AP/Wi-Fi/Mesh → wireless devices 
                                                     → wired devices  
                                                     → switch (optional) → wired devices
