FWG Reports no internet connect, but traffic is connecting to the intenet?

Ok,

I have a complex network setup where there is a production network and an IoT network, both of which have FWGs in Bridge Mode connected to a SonicWall.

The diagram is Endpoints <> FGW <> SonicWall <> ISP, which is the same for each network segment.

For some reason, which I'm not understanding, each of the FWGs are reporting that there is 'no internet connection,' but ALL of the endpoints are getting to the internet and they are ALL going through a bridge mode FWG.

What could possibly cause a FWG to think it can't get to the internet?  

A network diagnostic session indicates that the FWG is failing it's ping to github.io.  Is that the only thing it uses to test internet connectivity?

  Firewalla software uses github to test DNS. (you can always configure something else in network manager -> WAN->test targets

  In your case, was github.com filtered by your DNS?
