Unmanaged switch

I have a TP Link unmanaged switch and FWG in router mode. My switch has a dip switch that makes all ports separated vs able to see each other. I wanted to keep the ports separate and use FWG to allow different devices to communicate based on rules. My issue is I cannot see any device on the LAN: printers, other PCs, etc however, when on Open VPN I can connect to everything. What am I doing wrong?

  What is the model of the switch you are using? I am curious on the dip switch will separate the ports ... or even how that's related to VLAN

  I ended up turning off the switch and everything is visible now. I will just have to play with my VLAN settings in FWG to separate out devices. Should have bought a managed switch…. Lessons learned

  This one is 10/100 ... you probably want to get a gigabit instead 

  • 24× PoE+ 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports, 2× Gigabit RJ45 ports, and 2× combo Gigabit SFP slots
