These are google analytics and crash analytics for the app. We use this to log crashes and also issues with the app.

    Thank you.

I wish Firewalla used something other than Google. Kind of defy having a Firewalla if I'm going to end up with Google code in my core firewall app. Don't you think so?

Are there any other flows of such nature in the app or the box?

It is a standard practice to insert some type of analytics in mobile apps, websites ... etc ... their purpose is to help us (the developers) to build better software, and catch problems that we wouldn't have. These captured events are likely useless to google, and only useful info they probably can catch, you are using firewalla app.

I understand that it's unfortunately a standard practice by many developers. I believe that one way or another, Google will find a way to use such info, that's the base for all their services (it's free but you're the product).

I find it funny that you give me all this power to create VPNs and policy based routing (so I can protect my traffic and identity) but then use such Google code.

I wish that you provide a way to opt-out of sending these analytics. For now I blocked the flows. I degoogled many years ago and the last thing I want are Google calls from my own main router/router app 🙁

I believe the Firewalla ad blocker will block the analytics calls. You can just turn that on
