is there a exchange program ? purple for a gold.

i have a purple which stopped working and would go offline everyday. i had removed it from my network and forgot about it. is it possible to exchange your purple for a gold? yes. i would pay for the extra cost i guess. kind of disappointed there has not been a recall or offer exchange service for a gold.. the purple was a mistake! should of went for gold.
