I've seen some software for the enterprise that was claimed to be able to automatically create such a map, but when I talked to people who had tried it, they said it still required a fair bit of manual tweaking.

Many people use Visio for this type of map. I've used it in the past and it worked ok. More recently, some of my co-workers are using draw.io, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. https://app.diagrams.net/ It's supposed to be quite useful.

You could look at Racktables too. It's probably overkill for what you want though. https://www.racktables.org/  There are other CMDB applications out there as well, but most of them aren't free.

I actually did a trial of Device42 some years ago at a previous job. It claimed to be able to do autodiscovery, but it didn't really work for me. The salespeople turned out to be extremely annoying, so I wasn't inclined to put too much effort into figuring out what was needed to set it up properly. https://www.device42.com/

I also looked at Ralph and liked it. One of our devs really liked it too, and she took it on as a project and extended and customized it for our use. https://ralph.allegro.tech/  It's been 6 years since I moved on from that job, so I don't remember all the details of what she changed. Ralph is free, so you wouldn't need to invest more than some time. I think it's more capable than Racktables, but also more complex to setup.

Personally, I'd probably just try creating a diagram using draw.io or with Visio if you own a license. It's going to be a bit of a pain getting it all setup and the way you like it, but after that it's just a matter of updating it if you make any changes, add devices, etc. I think it would be less involved than setting up some kind of CMDB or other mapping software on your network.
