Using SSD connected to Firewalla via USB as backup drive for macOS TimeMachine

Hello!

I attached an external SSD via USB to firewalla but I cannot seem to access it. Is this expected behaviour or should that work? Would be fantastic if it would work. Want to use that as file storage and network backup.
