Firewalla Adds Gold SE for Affordable, Powerful Protection at High Internet Speeds

Launch celebrates the sixth anniversary of company’s first product launch, Firewalla Red

SAN JOSE, Calif. — June 12, 2023 — Internet service providers are offering speeds so fast that they outpace consumers’ hardware. Gigabit internet is a highly marketed product that is growing more popular as speeds increase. According to Ookla, the median fixed broadband download speed in America was 202.4 megabits per second (mbps) in April, 33% quicker than in April 2022. Firewalla Gold SE is designed with two 2.5 gigabit ports for fast wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) capabilities, and two 1 gigabit ports for network segmentation. It is powered by a Quadcore ARM processor with 4 gigabytes of memory and 32 gigabytes of storage and can process packets at 2 gigabits, making it perfect for the internet of the future.

Firewalla Gold SE has three modes that can function as a main router, operate between networks, or augment a network. It can also be paired with the Firewalla WiFi SD to ensure a connection, even if there’s an internet outage.
