This seems to have started on Wednesday, might it have something to do with a recent update?  Box is 1.9760 and app is 1.53

  You will need to update the app to 1.54

  Thanks. The IOS App store didn’t acknowledge the existence of 1.54 until I looked at the details of the Firewalla app. Sigh.

  Yes, I have auto-update on.  I checked manually for updates, and there were none.  I opened the App Store and searched for FireWalla, and my only option was "Open".  I clicked on the app description, and _THEN_ it said 1.54 was available, and gave me an "Update" button.  This was 3 days after the date 1.54 was apparently released.
