Etherner port fail (?) + port number inconsistency
Long story short: I was changing ethernet cables, when i unplugged the one connecting fwg+ to my ubiquiti switch, i heard a beep coming from fwg+. Strange i said, connected the new cable and nothing worked. Did several reboot both to fwg+ and switch, nothing, than i noticed that eth port lights were not blinking as usual, on both sides. Changed again cable (maybe the new one is faulted), nothing, no signal. Switched to another port of fwg and it worked again.
So, first question: is it for sure an hardware failure or is there any chance that doing a factory reset would fix it?
And now the absolutely strange fact: now the switch is connected to port #1 of fwg+ BUT, in the app, I have to choose the port #2, otherwise it won't work. So, phisically i'm on port 1, "virtually" i'm on 2...
Second question: how can it be possible? is it a sort of foreseen behavior?

Do you have a short circuit on the ethernet cable? You can wait a bit and see if it wakes up again and reset; if it does not work, you can contact support. Your unit has a year warranty; so unless the unit survived a lightning strike, the warranty should cover it.
As for the ports, if a port dies electrically (no light), then the OS will likely shift everything off by one.

Thanks. About short circuit i don't know. Tomorrow will check if it works with another device, right now it is connected with the old cable. Then i'll try a factory reset hoping everything will be back to normal. No lightning or other events, but in case i have to understand how warranty works, I'm in italy so every shipment comes with custom fees...
For the second question, is it normal that the cable is now on eth port 1 but in the app i have to set port #2?
