I am also experiencing the same issue, .1-.6 mb.  I also selected Emergency access on and still had the same results.  I disconnect my router (access point) from the firewalla purple and set it back to router mode and upload speeds go back to 20+ mb.

I’ve had precisely the same problem. I’ve eventually unplugged my Firewalla Purple.

I can’t work from home with it blocking everything. Must have been a recent change in software that has gone wrong.

Sub 1mb upload speeds are affecting web conference calls. Box is also incredibly slow and doesn’t respond well to changes.

I tried removing all the the default bundle and still the same results. Glad to see this problem is on the box and not unique to me.

Please let us know when it’s fixed. I ended up also deleting the proxygen rule, so going to need to try and get that back too…

I request you to post the update once you have the fix. I too have a ticket open, but no one is assigned yet to troubleshoot this. Thanks

I only just discovered that I may have this same problem.

Recently had Greenlight fibre Internet run to my house and installed a new Orbi Pro Wifi mesh system to replace my aging and out-of-support Airport Extreme and grow my number of WiFi radios. Initial problems with Firewalla Purple and getting the Orbi into AP mode led me to use the Orbi alone to get all my devices configured to their new addresses on one of four new SSIDs. Upload and download performance in this configuration were near the advertised 500 Mbps each way, but I wanted my Firewalla in front.

Continued experimentation got the Orbi properly into AP mode with Firewalla in front of it and managing all my devices on their different VLANs and WiFi. So far so good until I started running speed tests. Download was near rated 500 Mbps, but much more variable. Upload speeds were down in the low teens, like 13 Mbps. Didn't matter whether the client was on WiFi, or wired into a port on my Orbi router.

Just removed the Firewalla and reset my Orbi mesh back where it was, solo. Now the speeds are once again approx. 500Mbps down *and* up.

Definitely something not copacetic about my Purple in the upload path. I didn't discover this before now because I was hampered previously by Time-Warner/Spectrum's pathetic upload speed limits.

@George, I just open a ticket for you, what we will do is get remote access from you, and if the problem is upload, we will replace it for you. (even if you are out of warranty)

Hi @Firewalla, thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to put the Purple back in-line again with the Orbi as AP. It was a bit of a rain dance which I'll plan to retry first thing tomorrow morning, EDT. I'll post back here once I have it re-re-configured. Thanks again.

UPDATE: I just switched it over and the Purple is back on line and the slow upload has returned.  Approx 420 Mbps down and 7 Mbps upload. I have the remote credential at hand.

I am experiencing the same issue. Download speed okay, but my upload speed is throttled so hard at under 1.0mbps per sec, hovering around 0.2 to 0.3mbps.

I've done a speed check on my eero with no issue as well as speed check on Firewalla app and no issue, even unplugged directly routed ethernet from modem to computer no issue. Firewalla seems to be throttling upload speeds.

Contacted and opened a ticket with support.

Wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I had the same problem with my Purple, upload speeds dropped to 0.1-1Mbps and the packet loss rate slowly climbed to 25% which made doing almost anything impossible.  Firewalla support were great, they sent me a replacement that restored normal operations as soon as it was connected.

Originally I thought it was a hardware issue, maybe the Rx MAC or packet processing flaking out, but if it's happened to this many others and all around the same time it sounds more like a software issue.

Yeah they were great. Shipped me a new purple and shipped it to my new address in a different country no less. I really appreciate their support. Sure they have a design or defect issue, but they are managing it in such a great way. I'm happy to use them and be a customer advocate.

Same here, I have no problems recommending them, my Purple was from the original Kickstarter campaign but they replaced it no questions asked, that's great service.
