Port forwarding vs rules?
I am confused on Rules vs port Forwarding. I have a plex server and have forwarded the port I needed and it’s working. But I see the section about rules and wondering if I need to set anything on here for future remote access from other applications? Basically I’d like to get an explanation of where I use rules vs port forwarding.
Thank you in advance

Port forwarding is related to NAT, where you have an external port map to an internal port. (it is not forwarding, just mapping)
Rules are blocking or allowing traffic, a firewall feature. So you can do port forward, if there is a rule that blocks the external port, then traffic will not flow.
