If you are blocking a device from accessing the internet, it is done via MAC filtering. Same as "quarantine mode", which also uses MAC

I'm not. I'm trying to create a whitelist of devices allowed on my network—in other words, a list that contains the *only* devices allowed on my LAN. My NETGEAR WAP allows me to do this for each VLAN; however, the Nest Wifi Router I use for all of my smart home devices does not. For this reason, I was hoping I could do it on the Firewalla Gold.

Please remember that Large Language Models can hallucinate (make up answers) and ChatGPT has no knowledge of anything after September 2021.

Right, but I don't seem to be getting an answer to my question from humans either! ;)

Yes you can. You enable quarantine so any non-approved devices are blocked. You add a device to the approved list by taking them out of the quarantine group.

Same function and concept just different terms and approach.

Actually, that makes sense now. I think I was just too focused on how it's typically done--for example, on my NETGEAR WAP. Thanks for the clarification!
