Unable to Set Chromecast in Google Home

When I'm connected to my network within my Firewalla Gold LAN, I'm unable to setup both my Chromecast (Gen 1 & 4) to connect to my Google Home app. But when I tried to connect directly to my modem/router combo wifi, it's working. I already tried to enable Emergency Access to my Rules and turning off Monitoring to my Chromecast and on my phone that I'm trying to pair with, but it's not working. Any fix for this issue?

  Are you running in router mode? and are the chromcast on the same network or different? Is your WiFi running in AP mode?

  Yes, I'm on router mode.  The chromecast and the phone I'm using to set it up are all on the same network.  For the AP, I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but I have an access point inside the room where I'm trying to set this up.

  When you are on the same network, LAN traffic will not go through firewalla. So likely something else is going on. Have you tried to do a full reboot of google home + other devices?

  Sorry for the confusion.   What I meant here is when I tried to register my Chromecast device to my Google Home app so you can manage your Chromecast using your phone.  So this is not just within the LAN.  It tries to connect somewhere in the Google cloud to complete this registration.  I can connect the Chromecast itself to my Wi-Fi network just fine but I can't register it to my Google Home app on my phone.

  Do you have DoH? Adblock? unbound? or use any other filtering DNS? if you do, try to set them to 8.8.8.8

  Yes, I tried to disabled DoH and Adblock. I'm not using Unbound. For my static WAN DNS, I tried using 8.8.8.8 and my ISP's DNS, but none of them made any difference.

  Are there anything else I need to disable/turn off just for testing?

  My Chromecast with Google TV registered fine with the Google Home app on my Galaxy S22 today. I have Adblock & Family Protect turned on in my FWP.

  I have tried 2 different Android phones already but I can't still register my Chromecast to my Google Home App if my WiFi is going through my FWG.  Did you also make any other changes to make it work when you set it up for the first time?

  Have you tried to reboot your WiFi/AP?
