Can't connect to FWA to Change Modes

My FWA is in simple mode. I'm trying to change it to any other mode. But the app says it can not connect to the FWA. (The issue is not in the app or my connectivity...I can connect to two other remote FWAs). How do I change the mode? I did a hard reset in FWA and connected the FWA WAN port to my ORbi router LAN port. That did not work (I could not connect to FWA via app) Then I reset FWA again and this time connected the FWA LAN port to Orbi (LAN). still will not connect.

Also I thought FWA used bluetooth as well....but I don't see it show up on my phone.

  Any guidance? Kind of under a time crunch. (I fly out tomorrow not to return for 3 months.) I opened a ticket (57857) in Jan to change to simple mode as a test. I solved that one on my own with a hard reset The hard reset is not working this time.
