Static IP / mac import
Hi,
I am new to Firewalla, ordered a Gold one but waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime: I have a list of fixed ip addresses for my devices at home. It is a list of mac / ip addresses, exported from my current router. I am going to replace it with the Gold. Is it possible to import the list of static ip / mac addresses?
thx
Robert

I’m not aware of any way of importing the list. Assuming you are setting the Gold in router mode. Install the Gold and let your system come up. Then log into the Gold and make sure it is set to the network IP you desire. Then go to devices. In devices select one device you want to set the address for. Select the IP address. You then can change from Dynamic to Reserved. Below is the IP address which you can change if not set to your desired address

Ok, I just saw my Gold is shipped but that will take some time. I am also in an internet network/provider transition (aka going from GSM to fiber and a different provider). Is there a way (of working) to get my Gold fully configured first and then replace my current router/modem config with my new Gold/modem config? Aka can the setup also be done with the web interface (instead of the phone interface)? Does the web interface have a capability to import/type in the static/mac addresses?

You can connect your gold to your existing router and configure then replace. You can also do many of the functions via https://my.firewalla.com web interface. You can not import static/mac addresses, the system has to see the device first before you can configure it.
