Device Scanning Ports

I have a device on my network that I keep getting security alerts for.

Device workstation-name  is scanning ports on device FIREWALLA INC.

  Are you running an anti-virus program on the workstation. I know that some programs scan the router (and possibly other devices on the LAN) to determine if they are possibly compromised. Avast is one example of this.
