Am I Using Groups Wrong?

Hi,  

New owner of a gold here.  I'm not sure if I'm not using groups as intended, or simply missing some functionality, but they seem quite limiting to me.

For example, I've created a group for each of my kids.  But say I need to disable internet access for one device in my sons group, I can't do that, it impacts the whole group.  But, I need to group devices together as that is the most efficient way to safeguard access for my kids.  Is there a way to stop this happening?

Is anyone else using groups in this way, or can offer alternative ways of using groups?

  At the moment when a device is in a group, the device will take on the policy from the group.  So if you block a group, the device will be blocked.

  Are there any plans to change this?  Currently the usefulness of groups is limited if I can't isolate a device without impacting the entire group.

  I have a similar situation as OP and what I have done is created a group called "Jail" where I temporarily move a device that I need to block off the network.
