Help with setup. What am I doing wrong?(Fixed)

Hello. I have the firewalla gold purchased new.
I will preface that I am a network idiot, especially with technical network things. I am grateful for the easy to follow setup guide and prompts via the app. However, I have issues of no internet connectivity to any of my connected devices.
My setup: Modem>FWG>AX86u in AP mode>netgear 8 port unmanaged switch>bedrooms/office/living room all have their own hardwired line connecting into this switch. The living room has another 5 port switch for AT4k/Nvidia Shield/LG TV
Upon setup I had wireless to anything connected to wireless i.e. phones/thermostat, but nothing wired has connection.
The app prompted me to "join a local network" so I incinutated this meant setup a "local network." I did this but still had no connection to any devices. I connected the switch directly to the FWG and only my desktop computer had connection to the internet. This became confusing as why is this possible when everything is connected to single switch therefore everything should have connection, but not so.
I reset everything and attempted again via the switch connected to the router/ap and setup a wired local network, but nothing. I didn't change settings, besides picking the port being used and DHCP is enabled. I tried disabling IPv6 too.
What am I doing wrong?

I feel like the issue is this device. How can I be connected to my switch which is connected to FWG after resetting the device again, using Router mode (like I have been) and I have to delete the two standard default rules present within the app so that I can all of a sudden access webpages. BUT then I search amazon.com and everything freezes and now I'm back to nothing being accessable?
What the hell..

Update:
I reset everything. The device within the app, the app itself, cleared all cache, data, logs, and switched the usb port used by the usb key (was something new to try). This time I left my router in router mode to broadcast a wireless signal for my phone while I used the other ethernet port on my modem to connect to the FWG as it setup. It completed without issue. I slowly incorporated devices starting with my switch. I had to reset the network settings on my desktop pc for the network to be recognize and therefore have access. Then incorporated streaming devices. Lastly, I connected the router to a different LAN port after placing it in AP mode. Everything is recognized and works. I have not implemented any rules or ad blocking at this time.
Not sure where my issues were from. Not sure if it is the USB port (I doubt it). However, my first ever attempt at this yesterday the whole setup stalled out/timeout during the last phase of the setup. I don't know why. I restarted. Each time I did reset this little thing I would always see my previous data within the app and be confronted with the described issues of no connectivity. So did things not totally reset and be re-started successfully? Whatever it was I aged a few years. But that's over now, thankfully/hopefully.
