I don't know which area to post this in, but I thought it was worth sharing. 

It highlights some issues that have definitely come up before like the delay in alerts which I personally agree is a major area for improvement. 

Being able to apply rules to devices within a group is a debatable issue. I understand why Firewalla has chosen to keep things simple by saying rules apply to all devices in a group, but that has some downsides as well. For example I may want to disable one kid's devices but not the other for a period of time. If they are in a group, I can't do that. It doesn't make sense and I should be able to override the group rules at the device level.

  I agree. I have the same issue. I have the kids devices in a group, but if I want to turn the internet off on one device, I have to remove it from the group, then turn off internet, then remember to put back in the group when I turn the internet back on.

  We are gradually adding some exceptions to the group + rules.  The next one will be you can block all internet off a device even it has a group.   It is on the 1.45 list, but can be pushed to 1.46
