Why do I get alerts from my laptop, when it isn't even turned on?

    Check and see if your devices change IP ... (DHCP lease time). When that happens, there is a window where we key on the IP address ... which may map to a different device.

    Thanks. I'll check that. Also, why does it say things like "playing video games" when nobody ever connects to such sites. For example I have a Plex server and a Windows server that mostly site idle. But I will get an alert one of them is connected to "battlenet.com' (gaming server) or any number of random places?

    It depends on how your network MAC address and IP address changes.  This rarely happens, should not be very often, unless IP address happens right between these events.

    Also, the gaming detection + porn detection was made extremely sensitive ... they will alarm even if there is a slight indication ... (at the request from parents).  So, if you have a web page open that refreshes, you will get an alarm on that. (the network doesn't know if it is an automatic refresh or a new load ...)
