Google Play Store Application download/update (not Firewalla App)
Hi Everyone
I m having a lot of fun watching Firewalla. It helped me two weeks ago to catch my son watching Youtube by night.. With Firewalla I just then selected 'no internet' for the next days, no need to remove his Nintendo console.. no internet was enough for him to understand night rules.
That said, since weeks I can't see a solution to my problem : My android Pixel phone device is in a group that has no rule assigned. Not even ADs removal. This applies to my wife's phone as well which is a Redmi 8
Connected to WiFi and then Firewalla google shows more and more apps to be updated (47 today) but I if I run update it shows 'pending'.. looping. in Play Store.
As soon as I switch to 4G, all is being slowly downloaded and updated.
Again, there are no rules applied to my device group. I can go to any website.. but not download Apps from Play Store (maybe more things that said.. I can't be sure)

The usual debugging step for this is
1. Tap on devices->[tap on the device or group]->turn on emergency access
2. If emergency access solves the problem, it means a rule somewhere is blocking google.
3. then you will need to go into the rules and see which ones are blocking and pause them.
Step (3) may be annoying, so in 1.972 we are going to show you the recently blocked sites, which will make your life easier

1- i enabled monitor mode again.
2- went to Google play store. Some apps were pending install. Nothing happening
3- went to firewalla and selected emergency access for my phone.
4- back to play store on my phone, all downloading.The issue is that there are no rules applied for this device that is part of a group where no rules apply.
Any idea that could help me?

You mean adblock applies to devices either if unchecked specially for the as soon as this is enabled in the app ?
DoH means DNS over http.. not used.
Family and adblock are used but not checked for my group that includes that phone.In fact, I appreciate family because I have kids.. but could live with ads 😁.
All my apps are up to date. No test possible but I will try again in some days.

Not sure about that status but I m waiting for a solution or would be happy to open a case for that purpose.
My phone is in a group without any rule or policies.
Something blocks it from downloading Google Play Apps updates.
Family and adblock are used but not checked for my group that includes that phone.
How could I setup this in the best way to keep monitoring ?

Have you tried to disable family block, dns over https, adblocker and see if the problems goes away? these features are global, so it will affect (depend on where you are) some sites. There are also rules that's applied globally, check your rules button and then look for rules applied to all devices.
(a note, when you turn off family mode,... best to turn off and on your wifi on the phone as well, it will flush DNS)
If you can't find anything, feel free to open a case.

Thank you. This was resolved..
In short :root cause was : the existance of already created rules that could be for future usage : located in the 'Rules' button on the app home screen .
