Firewalla Gold with Xfinity XB8 need advice please!
Setup = Xfinity XB8 modem/router/wifi, Firewalla Gold, Netgear rax200 router/wifi, Netgear rax70 router/wifi, Netgear ProSafe GS108 switch, I also have a Netgear CM1200 modem. I only need to run one modem.
So I have spent a decent amount of time trying to get this set up configured the best way possible. I had the XB8 in bridge mode and Firewalla Gold in router mode. When set up like that I would receive lower connection speeds per my testing. Also I noticed for some reason when having the XB8 in bridge mode my public IP would stay static indefinitely (which I thought was for the most part a feature you had to pay for) I would prefer to not have a static public IP. I wanted to know if using the Gold in bridge mode or dhcp would be more effective possibly? I dont want to lose the vpn client from Gold. I love having all the control from the Gold, so would bridge mode offer the same ? I run my two netgear routers as APs with VLANS so I can segment my networks for instance keep my IOT devices on their own network and block all traffic to other networks. Im willing to re set up my whole network from scratch if it would be beneficial. Basically with my current equipment I wanted advice on what would be the best set up I could do. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Seriously.

Your WAN IP is up to your ISP. If you have a DHCP IP from your ISP they will decide when it changes. If you are connected fairly consistently your IP might not change for very long periods of time. This is normal and nothing to worry about.
If your ISP gave you a static IP then you should be using Static mode on the Firewalla.

Router mode is preferable. You have plenty of good equipment. Simple setup:
modem > FWG {router mode} > router {AP mode}
You could use the XB8 in bridge mode as well.
see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411167832851-Firewalla-Router-Mode-Configuration-Guide- for details of the options.
Router mode gives you all the Firewalla features and allows for Network Segmentation https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408644783123-Network-Segmentation

Honestly, I don't see why you want to mess with your setup.
