Is it possible to create a rule that allows the internet for only a set period of time?

Do you mean "just internet"? or an activity? if it is internet (of any type), then it is highly possible we can do it

    Hi folks

Yes, just the internet.  The group contains all of his devices (switch, PC and tablet) and I do not care which one he uses, only that he has a total time period for the day (i.e. 2 hours) which he can consume across all the group and after a total of two hours of data usage it shuts down access until we provide more time.

    Cheers

    Chris

Let me talk to our team; this may be possible; are these devices all iPhone/iPad/Android/PC?

Yep that they are, we have xbox's and a nintendo switch but they can be managed by their own tools if necessary.

Following... I've been checking firewalla posts for a while waiting for this to be added, I've always read that it's too difficult. My kids have multiple devices so being able to allocate "x" minutes to their device group over the course of the afternoon/evening would be amazing.

I'd buy one on a second if it gets added. A friend thought the gold or gold plus had it, but before I pulled the trigger on that I read it did not.

Well, if the requirement is "internet access: meaning doing anything", then it may be possible. If it is gaming for 1 hour, then it is not possible for a long time.

I would definitely like something like this :), and for my purposes any internet activity is fine.

It would be awesome if you guys get this to work (Synology has this already) and have integration with OpenDNS for web filtering like Netgear does. These two things are the only thing keeping me from buying Firewalla Gold.

I would love such feature also,

put devices into a group and limit access to  hours a day, across all devices combined in that group. once 2 hours is used up, internet shut down for this group.

Ofcourse it would be awsome if we could narrow it down further by application level.

It would be awesome if the daily internet hours can be managed based on individual device or group.

will you guys tolerate say 33% error rate? example, you provisioned kid youtube as 1 hour per day, and the system detection may actually be 1 hour and 20 min or 40 min? (or something around that)?

We are starting our work to limit things like youtube usage, it is already in the plans, and if it works, we may move to other applications.
