No Internet - Lost Connectivity to Firewalla
Today my internet went out for over an hour or more. I was trying to diagnose the problem via the firewalla app which showed me that i still had an IP from my ISP but i could not resolve DNS or connect to the internet. Just to be safe i tried rebooting my modem and also rebooted the firewalla via the app.
All was good until the firewall would no longer respond or connect to the app. I was connected prior to the reboot but and was standing right next to the firewalla but could no longer connect. I tried both my android and iphone but neither would work. I then tried shutting down the firewalla and booting it back up with no success.
1.) I first tried pinging the firewalla and all was good there.
2.) I then tried https://diag.firewalla.com/ but that only works if you have internet connection from the same WAN ip as the firewalla so my phones couldn't test.
3.) I then tried to access http://fire.walla:8833/ss/ which wouldn't work because DNS wouldn't resolve which is strange because this should be local (i would assume) I then tried http://X.X.X.X:8833/ss/ and the webpage loaded and i could do a local speed test. So the firewalla was running.
4.) I was at the point i was going to connect another AP to my modem, (assuming firewalla was the issue) download the image and flash the firewalla. Then, luckily the internet came back and i was able to access the firewalla.
I guess what i'm wondering why is there not some local way to http://X.X.X.X:8833/diag/ or something similar to help troubleshoot the firewalla?
Is this normal behavior? Should i not have rebooted the firewalla or is my bluetooth dongle bad? I mean, i assume it was working over bluetooth when the internet was down prior to the reboot.

I was sitting about 3 feet from the firewalla when the internet first went out.
I was most likely connected over bluetooth when i first restarted the firewalla, just because i didn't have any internet at the time. But after rebooting the firewalla a message did appear saying that it was not able to connect and that i should get closer. At that point i was about a foot or less from the router but it would never connect.
I tried two different phones and shut it down using the physical power button, let it sit for 15 minutes. It only started responding when the internet finally came back online about 40 minutes later. I mean, normally i'm able to access the firewalla without internet, just as long as i'm right next to the box but i've never rebooted it while the internet was out. 🤷♂️
