TP-Link Deco mesh with FWG
Will the 2 TP-Link Deco (in AP mode) connected to 2 FWG ethernet port work as ethernet backhaul mesh (meaning having same SSIDs etc.)? e.g.
FWG Port 4 - WAN (modem)
FWG Port 3 - Deco 1 (AP mode)
FWG Port 2 - Deco 2 (AP mode)
In other works what am trying to understand is if the ethernet ports in FWG acts like a switch for Deco to work in ethernet backhaul mesh mode. In Deco manuals they say a switch can be used to do ethernet backhaul. I was not sure if it would work with FWG.
Side Note:
I am planning to buy FWG Plus and use it with Deco X75 Pro, since all would have 2.5G ports.
I am not concerned about my ISP speed, but mostly the network speed to access my NAS and servers at faster speeds over mesh Wifi.

I think this should work, assuming you haven't segmented the ports. I have a satellite deco hardwired into my primary deco and their app shows gigabit backhaul as expected. I'm not home right now but I'll try to remember to go move it to one of my FWG ports and make sure it stays the same.

Yes that's correct. I didn't have a need for it but was just testing it out for the OP. Based on TP link's site, they mention network loop detection could prevent wired backhaul from taking place. That's a dangerous setting to be changing (and haven't even seen it in my FWG settings) but I'm half tempted to dig around just for curiosity
