New router with FW Purple

Hello,

I believe I need to replace my wireless router and may as well do that at the same time I install my new Purple.  I'm running off a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, and if I put the purple in router mode, does that bypass all the gaming/security functions of the wireless router (I assume so)?  I need a wireless connection with at least 4 LAN ports if anyone has any suggestions.

  The installation should be [Modem]<--> Purple in router mode <--> WiFi Access Point or Mesh
