You need an internet connection but you can configure a lot behind an existing router. Just plugin Firewalla WAN to the LAN of your working network and you can begin.

Understood, thank you for your response. After the initial pairing, do you still need internet connectivity to configure Firewalla device?

Depending on the firewalla, you can do somethings over Bluetooth, or in the case of Purple, wifi but I would leave it hooked up to a network.

Does it work also for Firewalla Blue+? If I change network it will upgrade automatically primary network when I reconnect to a new one?

So Blue Plus usually runs in DHCP or Simple mode. So you may need to adjust the router you connect it to but otherwise basically yes, just plug it in.

Sorry, I forgot to say that’s configured in dhcp mode with network overlay.

So if you add it to another network you would want to disable DHCP on the router.

I did connect to my downstream switch, and got the initial pairing completed. After the initial pair, I was able to join to one of my wireless networks with WiFi SD, and continued the rest of the configuration. Thanks for your feedback, Michael Bierman.

Is there a way to create DHCP Reservations ahead of time? I thought I went through all the settings, but was unable to create hosts without plugging them in.
