AP 'ping' Performance Spike Normal?

I have a Netgear WAX214 AP connected to a Netgear GS305 Switch which connects to Gold.  Below there is a spike to 138.820 ms.   The Ethernet connection to switch did not show such a spike.   Is such a temporary spike normal for WiFi or should I contact Netgear?

  You are pinging a remote network. This means, the ping rate depends on multiple ISP/service providers, and also, how busy is the end 'pinged' system. So if you get a packet that's slow, should be okay.

  But when I directly connect to the switch and run it many times this doesn't happen.   Here is a ping with similar spikes against my QNAP on same network but it is wired to Firewalla Gold:

  Fixed:

  

  Fiddled with WiFi 5 GHz Channel Configure then set back to Auto and bingo the APs now select unique channels.   Not sure why initially both were both Auto selecting channel 36.
