Can I leverage existing FIOS MoCA network with FWG in Router Mode?
I haven’t seen a post explicitly ask this one, so here it goes :)
I just moved my FWG into the following setup with Verizon FIOS:
ONT -> FWG (Router Mode) -> Eero Pro 6+ (Bridge Mode) ~> two additional Eero Pro 6+ extending the mesh network through the house.
My precious configuration was ONT -> Verizon G3100 -> Verizon E3200 Extender (connected via Coax on the FIOS MoCA network).
I switched to the new network configuration as I cut the cord entirely (previously using my own TiVO boxes through the MoCA network). I did not think I needed the MoCA network in the new configuration but am finding that my WiFi speeds on the Eeros is significantly lower than the FIOS G3100 and the E3200 which was hardwired to coax via MoCA.
My question is, how can I leverage the MoCA network to continue to use the FWG in router mode with the FIOS devices in bridge mode. I’m thinking this but am guessing it won’t work (will test it)
ONT -> FWG (Router Mode) -> Verizon G3100 (Bridge Mode for WiFi Network) -> Verizon E3200 (Bridge Mode for WiFI Network, hardwired to a Coax via MoCA). And the MoCA would come from:
-The ONT COAX to the G3100 (like it was in old configuration)?
I’m guessing I need to somehow take the ONT COAX to enable MoCA through something else, but am hoping it’s as easy as going back through the G3100 in Bridge mode.
