    You can’t blame the Ethernet cable on this. A lot of posts about this issue and I don’t see a clear fix. My Ethernet cable works fine in my existing configuration and works initially with firewalla, but then suddenly drops to 100mbs which is terrible. Please provide firmware update that forces a port speed. Firewalla should not be auto negotiating to a lower speed.

    Please see the article, one cause may be the cable, it can also be the port, or the switching used.

    1 agree. Have a FWG and my P3 speed suddenly drops from 1Gpbs to 10 Mpbs. I was testing a USB C to Ethernet connection device for my PC. I would like to know how to reset the port back to same speed as provided by my ISP. All cables are CAT 6. I am guessing the auto negotiating of my USB C device is the root cause.

    i don’t want to reset my FWG yet, but have read all the other instructions.

    I see a setting that allows you to set your network speed of your isp, to which id think would be attached to the ports config, but it seems to auto negotiate anyhow. I wound up replacing both ends on my cat 6 and it seems to be holding steady. Oddly the cables were made and tested not long ago, so I’m not certain why that was needed.

    My network seems to be performing as intended. I believe this to be a great product and with some more tweaks to stuff it will definitely serve its purpose.

    I know this is an older post, but I just installed a Firewalla Gold, I'm on 2g fiber.  The box speed tests @ 2178 Mbps, but the LAN connection to my computer tests @ 95 Mbps.  Checked the Port Speed and it's at 100 Mbps.  Out of curiosity, I put a 2.5g switch between the computer and Firewalla device, and port speed jumps to 2.5G and the computer speed tests at 1 Gbps, which is what it should be at.  Seems to be the Firewalla box Auto negotiate speed that is flawed.  Not sure if anyone has a follow-up to fix.

    Check your wiring and make sure they are within spec. If ports negotiate 100mbit, just unplug and reinsert the ethernet cable;
