Our motto is "Simple and Affordable". We really want to make Firewalla affordable.
We avoid charging any monthly fees, however, we have some features for pro or small businesses that carry a fee. These newer features are for power users and consume much more resources than a simple family network.
Are there any paid features today?
Yes – we offer Firewalla Managed Security Portal (MSP), which is a web service designed for security and infosec professionals to easily manage multiple Firewalla boxes remotely. We still offer a free web portal for users with just one Firewalla box, but in order to offset the cost of data storage for complex networks with multiple Firewallas, we charge a monthly fee for Firewalla MSP.
What are some features that we would charge a fee for?
Fees are resource-based. For example, we keep a detailed history of the last 24 hours for all devices. Some users may want to have more data. The storage needed to archive data will be costly and likely translate to a small recurring fee. This feature might not be useful to families but could be important to businesses.

Hi! There are a couple of typos/grammatical mistakes in this article.
"What we want to do is not charge families any monthly fee's" - *fees
"No, there is none." - The question asked if there are any, so the answer should also use "are" instead of "is".
The rest could use some polishing, but the biggest issue is using an apostrophe to make a word plural. That is never correct.
